Personal advisory services

More than a filing service.

If your tax situation involves stock compensation, rental property, retirement accounts, or an inheritance, you need a team that understands the strategy behind the numbers.

We believe that the only way to help people reach their goals is by spending valuable time together to get the right strategy in place.

Our Advisory Services are one-on-one and focused on evaluating, implementing, and executing our best practice strategies. Many of our clients come to us because their financial lives have outgrown the tools and providers that worked when they were younger.

Our advisory services leverage our extensive knowledge and experience to solve complex problems, implement strategic initiatives, and educate our clients. We offer a variety of advisory packages tailored to specific industries, client groups, and niches.

Examples of advisory services we can provide:

  • Stock Compensation

If your employer offers ESPP, ISO, NSO, or RSU compensation, the tax implications of when and how you exercise, hold, or sell can mean thousands of dollars in difference owed. We help you build a plan that coordinates exercise timing, holding periods, and tax-bracket management instead of just reporting what happened after the fact.

  • Retirement and Inheritance

The years around retirement, and the arrival of an inheritance, carry some of the biggest tax decisions most people ever make: which accounts to draw from and when, whether Roth conversions make sense, required minimum distributions, and what an inherited account or property means for your taxes. We help you plan those decisions before they lock in.

  • Real Estate Investors

From your first rental property to a growing portfolio, we advise on depreciation strategies, 1031 exchanges, passive activity rules, cost segregation studies, and the tax implications of selling. We don't just prepare the Schedule E. We help you think about your portfolio as a whole.

  • Complex Individual Tax Planning

High-income earners, dual-income households, people navigating divorce or inheritance, multi-state filers, and anyone whose tax picture has layers. We start with tax planning and continue the conversation all year so there are no tax-time surprises.

How it works

Every personal advisory relationship starts with a conversation, not a form. We'll learn about your situation, your goals, and what's keeping you up at night financially. From there, we'll recommend the right level of engagement.

How our fees work: we work on fixed annual fees, agreed with you before any work begins. No hourly billing and no surprise invoices. Before you sign up as a client, we scope your situation, and you have an exact number within about a week.

A quick self-check, not a formal assessment

Where does your tax picture stand?

Ten quick yes or no questions about how you handle recordkeeping, deductions, retirement, equity compensation, and property or major life changes. At the end, you will see where you land on a simple four-stage ladder, and one honest next step.

Built for individuals and families with real complexity in their tax picture, whether that is equity compensation, rental property, retirement planning, or a recent life change, who want a year-round tax advisory relationship, not just a return filed once a year. If you are only looking for a quick answer to a single tax question, this self-check probably is not what you need, and that is fine.

About two minutes. Nothing you answer here is saved, sent, or tracked anywhere.

This self-check is for general orientation only. It is a self-assessment based on your own answers, not a professional review of your finances, and it is not tax advice.

Common questions
Do you only work during tax season?

No. LAS CPA's personal advisory clients have year-round access to their advisor, a secure client portal, and proactive communication whenever something changes that affects their taxes. The return filed each spring reflects the planning done throughout the year.

My employer gives me stock compensation. When should I get help?

Before you exercise or sell, not after. With RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, and ESPPs, the timing of what you exercise, hold, or sell can mean thousands of dollars of difference. At LAS CPA, we build that plan with you in advance.

Do you handle foreign income and multi-state situations?

Yes. LAS CPA handles foreign asset reporting (FBAR and FATCA), foreign tax credits, the transition into or out of U.S. tax residency, and multi-state filings for individual clients.
